Bahamas Wedding at Private Estate on Rose Island

Joe and Kim had a unique destination wedding request. They wanted a venue that was private and secluded with beautiful, crystal clear turquoise waters as a back drop for swimming and enjoyment following Nassau ceremony and reception lunch.

We found this couple just such a spot ... the High Seas private excursion at an estate on Rose Island off Paradise Island, Nassau.  On July 9th, our day started in cloudy fashion with rain.  Typical for summer, rain did not last.  Clouds lifted, the sun shone and off we went to the Paradise Island Terminal shortly after 9 a.m.

We were greeted by the High Seas hostess who showed us to our two boats.  Our 25-minute skim across the waters to our stunning location on Rose Island location was smooth and fun.  Our boat captains and their assistants were most gracious.

As we approached the wedding set-up, guests were immediately enamoured with the beauty and charm of this lovely cove.  The amazing Captain Ryan, owner and operator of High Seas, greeted us.

Guests were welcomed with a Caribbean Breeze cocktail and a swag welcome bag.  They all eagerly awaited the excitement of the ceremony as Kim's sister helped her to dress in a cottage at the estate.

At 11:30 a.m. as Joe and stood at the altar, Kim processed down the aisle flanked by her two daughters, Avery and Halee whilst stood with Joe and Lauren at the altar.  Reg Eldon performed a beautiful ceremony crafted by Joe and Kim.

Initially, Joe and Kim who have visited the Bahamas for years, wanted a destination wedding at an Exuma Cay. Though not the Exumas, as the sun glistened on this July day, our Rose Island location with gin clear aquamarine waters came pretty close to the stunning waters of the Exumas.

The ceremony was followed by cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres of Tropical Conch Salad, Crostine topped with Smoked Salmon and Caviar, Cherry Tomatoes and Mozarella Balls and Sashimi Oysters.

A scrumptious lunch followed ...  Mango Shooter with Serrano Ham, Spring Mix Salad, Wagyu Beef with Mashed Potatoes, Sauteed Mushrooms and Grilled Vegetables.  Guests also had a choice of Grilled Salmon with Champagne Sauce and Penne Gogonzola and Basil.  A dessert of Crepes with Fresh Fruits and Whipped Cream topped off the meal.

After lunch, it was time to frolic in the ocean.  A massive float inflated by the High Seas crew was the spot for lounging and enjoying drinks in the afternoon.   It was tough leaving this setting but alas the day came to an end and everyone reluctantly departed the cove for return the boat journey to Paradise Island.  Undeniably a fun day was had by all!

Congratulations, Joe and Kim.  We wish you many blessings and an joy filled marriage life!

  1. Ah! This was soothing to the eyes. The cake looks delicious, it made me drool. Congratulations on getting married so beautifully. I have to look for one of the LA event venues just like this for my wedding. I have even finalized my wedding dress and I am very excited about it.
