Bahamas Wedding - The John - DeMey Real Wedding

Featured on the blog today are Real Wedding notes from bride Crystal John DeMey.  Photos are courtesy of Robin Roemer Photography.  Enjoy!

Marva Munroe made my dream Bahamas Wedding become a reality.  I started planning my wedding about a year before the wedding date.  She was extremely attentive and approachable. Not only answering my "neurotic" emails in a very timely manner but she also put my New Yorker OCD qualities to rest by assuring me she had everything under control.

She arranged a full 3 day weekend wedding celebration for us and our guests, meet and greet party, rehearsal dinner and our wedding.  The meet and greet was held at the Sabor Pool at Pelican Bay where our guests enjoyed fresh Bahamian refreshments while swimming and listening to music.

The rehearsal dinner was held at Taino by the Sea, where our 115 guests boarded a ferry to the location, ate authentic Bahamian Barbecue and danced the night away with a surprise appearance of a fire dancer.  It shocked our guests and they have never seen anything like it.

Our April 14, 2012 wedding was held on a private beach.  The ceremony was one of our favorite parts of the wedding.

Even with 115 guests, Marva still managed to make it feel very intimate and personal.   The reception was held at the Canal House at the Pelican Bay Hotel.  The food was exquisite.  True story, I still have dreams of our salad!  It was that good!

The room was filled with fresh Hydrangeas and Roses, with votive candles everywhere.  It jaw dropping. The Junkanoo band jump started the party and we danced the night away till the wee hours of the morning.   Guests were also treated to specially made whisky from Ryan’s birth place in Iowa and rum from Crystal’s birth place, Grenada.

I cannot tell you how many times I've heard it was the BEST WEDDING ever! Pelican Bay Hotel is a star rated hotel, the customer service is number 1 and they really put their guests first! The whole weekend was magical! I cannot thank Marva enough!

Flying Fish Modern Seafood Restaurant on the water is amongst these best venues.  A lovely space with one of a kind decor and touches, Chef Tim Tibitts and his fabulous team will cater to you and your guests serving a  blend of traditional and modernistic style cuisine perfectly suited for your discriminating palette ranging from scrumptious butler passed hors d'oeuvres to a three-course plated dinner.   Hosted beverages served by Tim's wife, Rebecca, manager and professional Sommelier and team, are based on consumption and feature the fine wines and other spirits.  Pricing for hors d'oeuvres and dinner start from $100.00 per person plus 18 percent gratuity.

Pelican Bay Hotel, just next door, offers outdoor and indoor space for up to 100 guests.  The hotel's Neptune's Terrace is a favourite among brides and grooms.  Also, situated waterside, the space may be used for a wedding ceremony followed by cocktails, dinner and dancing.  The hotel is a Wedding Wire Brides Rated venue.

On the more casual side is Taino by the Sea, very popular for its Bonfire and Bahamian Buffet at its location on Taino Beach.  A scrumptious buffet, unlimited tropical signature drink and entertainment provide a dun evening for all.  The Bonfire is three hours in length.
